The Academy gives me a great opportunity to be with my children while giving them a chance to learn about our place in the world. It's a unique environment where they can have fun and learn at the same time.
—Danny Guillory, San Francisco

The California Academy of Sciences is more than just a building. It's a community of people, united in their passion about the natural world and their vision for a new facility that will redefine the museum experience. Here's how you can become part of this community.

Campaign for the New Academy

The natural wonders of the world are far-flung but, today, it no longer requires a voyage to the South Pacific to explore a coral reef or a flight to South Africa to visit African Penguins. Thanks to the generosity of donors like you who have contributed to the Campaign for the New Academy, these wonders have been brought home to San Francisco. As this Campaign is still in process, please don't hesitate to make a charitable donation today.

Annual Fund

Greg Farrington, executive director of the California Academy of Sciences, knows that the work that takes place inside the building is as innovative and cutting-edge as the award-winning structure itself. The new Academy provides a world-class stage for scientific discovery. That's where the Annual Fund comes in. It takes ongoing resources to ensure that exhibits, educational programs, and cutting-edge research meet the highest standards of international respect and recognition.

Your Gift Makes a Difference

How are your donations being used? These funds are building a living coral reef much larger than the Academy's former thousand-gallon tank. They are helping scientists research two thousand unique plants and creatures who have never before been documented. Whether you give to the Campaign for the New Academy or through the Annual Fund, your contributions will make a difference in our ability to research, teach, and exhibit subjects related to the natural world.

Campaign for the New Academy

The great natural wonders of the world are far-flung. But soon, it won't require a voyage to the South Pacific to visit a coral reef, or a rocket ship to explore the universe. The success of the Campaign for the New Academy will bring these wonders as close as Golden Gate Park. Through the generosity of private donors, the new Academy will offer a window into Earth's biodiversity while providing a tangible example of sustainable architecture.
